Just a little girl

Some days, I believe that I can hear her, whispering into my ear.

Whispering the most beautiful, absurd, and insignificant things with a little smile on her face.

It’s just a little girl, I remember myself. Let her be childish and curious. Take away her fear and protect her.

A little girl that looks at the world through her beaming eyes… Little girls deserve to dream big.

But how frightening some challenges can be.

Little does she know, that she has nothing to fear.

This little girl is protected, by the knowledge, experience, and courage of an older girl.

A little girl that dreams her days away, a young woman that does the same.

To dream and float through the days.

A little girl wants no arguments, but a young woman still runs away.

Runs and runs until her feet give up, and she lays down in the grass.

Breathing in the long, cold breaths, and as she looks to her left, she sees someone else.

‚Hello, little girl. May I help you?‘ – she asks. ‚Oh, I was just running from an argument; I hate those.‘

‚Me too,‘ said the older one.

Then, as she looks into the eyes of this little ray of sunshine next to her, she sees herself.

‚Would you like to work on it together?‘ – asks the young woman.

‚Yes, I do,‘ says the little girl.
