About friendship

Just a few months ago, I’ve noticed my friendships bloom. I’ve noticed my friendships evolving in a way I could not have imagined. Having people in your life that you can lean on, who support you and don’t judge you for your decisions in life, is truly invaluable.

One thing I especially love about the relationships with the women in my life is watching them grow and evolve. They develop a stronger sense of character—a sense of self. They make decisions and choose their paths. It’s a blessing to be able to join each of them on their journey. My friendships mean a lot to me; they are my family.

I would say I am blessed to call myself a friend of theirs. To offer them advice, to support and encourage them, to hold them close, and to let them move in their own rhythm. My friendships feel sacred to me; they offer me a home so different from what I have ever experienced. I am in awe when I think about the stories we’ve collected together and those that lie ahead of us. It’s inspiring to be around them; it’s so beautiful, words could never capture it.

I think the dynamics in my relationships changed a lot the moment I decided to be vulnerable and authentic—to be me, without wanting to hide a flaw. To stand up for myself and own myself. Allowing myself to shine without the fear of being seen in their presence made my friendships so incredibly beautiful.

I love each and every one of them. Each of them is so different. Naming Vanessa, who is like a sister to me, Balti, my very best friend, no matter what. Nina, a beautiful young woman I’ve known since we were very little, Ayshe, who I have also known for such a long and wonderful time, Livi, who I don’t see often but our bond is strong as ever. Talking about strong bonds, Lilla, what a beautiful person to have in my life. Sophia, who loves me in a way that feels like home and the smell of lavender, Gloria, who I just recently got to know but who inspires me. Vici, who I have also not known for long but who I feel lucky to be around too. Jona, who has a beautiful soul that touches your heart. Just some of the people that I feel so lucky to have in my life. I am luckier than I could have ever imagined I would be.

As I said, having people in your life who recharge your battery, light up your heart and soul, and who feel like home is so incredibly valuable and wonderful.

I give my thanks to each and every one of these beautiful people. Without them, my life would not be as colorful and fulfilled as it is.
